Port Projects on the Horizon

The Port of Ephrata has filed the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) with the FAA for 2025-2030 that outlines projects eligible for grant funding.  Projects listed include Runway 3/21 re-surfacing and maintenance, due to be completed by summer 2025.  Another project is the installation of perimeter fencing around the airside portion of the Port.  This project is targeted for 2026/2027 and include automatic and manual gates at each entrance to provide increased security.  The Airport Layout Plan (ALP) and ultimately the Airport Master Plan (AMP) will be reviewed and if necessary updated by 2030 to enable further improvements to the airport.  Projects involving the industrial park and rail warehouse complex are being considered but would require additional funding via state and federal grants, loans and private capital investment.
