Th Association of Washington Aerial Applicators (AWAA) held their 3rd Annual Fly-In at Ephrata Municipal Airport (EPH) on October 3rd & 4th. By all accounts, it was a big success in that it achieved the target goals the association was shooting for. Unlike the two previous years, this fly-in included a Saturday which opened the door for more families to come and enjoy the sights, sounds including aircraft static displays, flight performances, lectures from the Aircraft Owner & Pilot Association (AOPA) President as well as an aerial applicator industry expert. Food in the form of pancakes (breakfast) and burgers (lunch) were available to those feeling hungry during the event. There was an estimated crowd just north of 100 that attended which surpassed previous years’ totals. AWAA plans to keep having fly-ins the first weekend of each October going forward and to keep expanding the event to make it even more of a fun and learning event for the community.
