The Port has committed to the preservation of all three WWII-era hangars at KEPH. Last year, two of the hangars i.e. Buildings 405 and 734, had been designated for demolition per the Capital Investment Plan (CIP) list approved by the FAA, however, the Executive Director, Dave Lanman, that took over in March 2023, cancelled such and with the support of the commissioners, have developed plans to turn the buildings into commercially viable assets instead. The buildings will be used to house jet, turbo-prop and larger piston-type aircraft. Offices in Bldg. 405 (middle hangar) are to be refurbished to help attract aircraft management operations. Bldg 734 (north hangar), currently being used by Trout Lake Farm (TLF), will eventually become available for aircraft storage soon after TLF moves out of the building across the way into Building 1 on the Port, expected to be by the first quarter of 2025. Building 304, southern-most hangar, is the home of Barrett Aircraft.
